Sydneysider

After spending wonderful couple of years in Singapore, I joined as CRM consultant with a consulting firm in Sydney. I left this blog in draft for almost 5 years! I am trying to recollect those early moments of my first and close encounters with Australian lifestyle and people here.

I remember seeing those tall buildings in CBD after I took a short walk from my fancy hotel where I had been booked by the company (so nice of them. It was a scary and as well as an accomplished feeling - Landing a job in Australia was something that I felt was one of my accomplishments. In fact, I never knew that I would be able to get a job here. I think it is mostly by grace of Almighty and good communication/interviewing skills along with my technical/functional knowledge about CRM. Ah! Going back to my experience of my first evening in Sydney was impressive. I had a quick look and found a 7-eleven shop. Used my newly exchanged Australian dollars to buy some necessary items. It was not so crowded during the nights in CBD. I also made a note of where my office is (had a little printout of my office addresss i think). It was one of the taller buildings, Phew!  Back to my fancy hotel room and then I made sure my new suit is all good for tomorrow’s big day. I couldn’t get sleep due to excitement, was thinking about lot of things that I may need to do or to be done and plenty of it is unknow.
I also made a call to reception for a wake-up call in the morning.

its 6 months since I landed here....

The days have passed out so quickly.... its almost 6 months since i landed in Singapore. Quite a clean country and very different from London. Its very busy mostly during the peak hours, particularly on Sat, sundays in the city. People here like to shop a lot and they follow the rules very well. Government here has maintained the city really well, its a small city and I feel thats why its well managed, kept everything under control. I live in Redhill quite near to the city and its not that busy area, but has some or other activities going on. few days back the haze due to Indonesian forest fires had covered entire city, it was very smoky (and smelled too!) hardly i could see couple of blocks from my apartment. It would have given health problems if it had sustained any longer and worse with all the medical centers lined up , now its all gone. Lucky because of the winds that took the haze from other direction, away from the city.

Impressive life

Life is quite impressive sometimes; it’s inspiring and motivated when things happen in place. It looks like life has taken a positive side and left behind all the reigns of your failure way ….way behind. Life keeps pushing things forward, you never know when u have crossed some many things. In all angles life has been so unbelivable, its very much true to the fact that people has to undergo different phases to understand it and realize it. Though it has more worst parts one could spend but there are also the most beautiful and astounding parts of life. Close your eyes and imagine a green lushy field near by a stream of water flowing makes you feel good. Sometimes Silence teaches a lot, soothes one's mind and gives a standstill to the fast paced life. We have the power to accelerate our own lifes, though its slightly a bumpy road, its for sure you will get your best ride!

One of my best shots using my camcorder Sony HC30E. It was one of the windy evenings in Cuttralam. It was drizzling too! This climate is really good and we enjoyed a lot with almost all the waterfalls in the town. It makes me feel happy and good when i think about that trip. Rains In Chennai

There were days in Chennai where rain was required and people prayed to God for pouring down water from heaven. Water was considered more precious and valued (I hope..), People use to run to places and get water. Insufficient water was always talk of the town and written down in local articles. Time changed and now- a - days, trip...trip... I hear that sound almost everyday in the nov & decemeber, the rains are pouring down like gallons of water, City is in trouble as the water started logging in various parts of the city. Due to overflow of water in lakes in and around the city and the dams which control had to release the water. Next day water lushed in to major city areas creating havoc and problems. Hope good planning of water system in the city could have solved almost all the problems.
Whenever i see good rain, I feel good and happy, but being safe in shelter, i even feel bad for people without shelter.
Had any one face any problems due to rains??
